Most of the effort behind a system that runs every day sits in the data underneath it rather than the model on top.
Build for the second use case
Lineage, access, evaluation and a record of what a system did are dull to build, and they are what makes the next project cheaper than the last.
Name an owner
A dataset or a model with nobody accountable for it drifts. We hand work over with the owner written down.

Work on the parts that are hard to get right
We look for people who like the unglamorous half of this work: the data, the definitions, and the systems that have to keep running after the project ends.
